***Nearly half of the class was absent on Thursday during which Test 5A (Chapters 9-10) was taken, so I will be sending a group text to the parents of those students who were absent. Exams must be taken at school—they may not be taken at home; so the group text will be sent to coordinate a day after school during which all three students will be able to stay and make up their exams.

Thursday, April 30:

Test Day in Class (Test 5-A—Chapters 9-10)

***Please be seated and ready with all other needs handled before the start of class at 1:30. Bring a book to read, a journal, or some other assignment to work on—just in case you finish early.

***Hopefully, you all have been studying since last Thursday as there has been no homework given since Thursday. Even if you feel fully ready to take the exam, it’s still a good idea to do a full refresher the evening before the exam.
***Remember to review the Study Guide from Tuesday’s class and memorize it as best as you can while also comprehending the translations.

***If you have questions before the test, please write them down—we’ll do a quick Q&A just before I pass out the exams.

Thursday, April 23:

Tuesday, March 3:

Finish Chapter 7 Worksheet Quiz using ONLY your books and class resources (homework, index cards, et cetera). No late work will be accepted after Tuesday since we are going over answers in class. Remember, quizzes are weighed as 30% of your overall grade, so prioritize accordingly.

Thursday, February 26:

1) Complete exercise 7.4 Word Study (define the words while using a dictionary).

2) Complete exercise 7.5 C (for this exercise, remember to mark sentences as you would do when prompted during a quiz or test.)

*Much time was given in class to complete these exercises; so if you were following instructions to stay on task, you should hopefully have little left to do at home.

Tuesday, February 24:

Because more than half of the class was not present on Thursday, and because of the major assignments due in other classes, I did not give new homework for this Tuesday. Use this time to study (review endings and vocabulary, etc.) and to complete 7.5 B if you did not have it completed today. I will give you partial credit for it on Tuesday if you remember to show me your completed work.

Due Thursday, February 19:

1. Complete exercise 7.5 A

(Use the 7.5 A worksheet for added ease and structure which was provided today in class.)

2. Work through all of exercise 7.5 B

(Do not worry about accuracy—just do your best.)

*I will go over the translations from Test 3 and the lesson on Chapter 7 on Thursday, but I want you to “struggle” through these exercises beforehand so that the lesson will make better sense to you after trial and error.

3. Remember to review noun genders if you have not already memorized them.

**Please have your materials prepared at your desk before recess ends and reading time begins —with your Latin textbooks, notebooks, and writing utensils at your designated places; along with having gone to the restroom, your water bottles filled, etc. I will begin taking points off from individual participation grades if these simple procedures are not followed by start of class beginning Tuesday, February 19.

Due Tuesday, February 17:

1. For those who want to resubmit their Chapter 6 Quiz translations for a better grade, follow the clear instructions given in class (along with the written feedback which I haven given to each of you, individually) to resubmit. (Note: This is optional. No late submissions will be accepted after Tuesday.)

2.Following our review and the given feedback, come to class ready to begin Chapter 7. Review what you need to review; study what you need to study (as discussed in class).

(Due Tuesday, February 10):

1. Following the instructions in your textbook, complete copy work for 7.1, 7.2, and 7.3. (7.3 does not need to be handwritten).

2. Review chapters 1-6 (memorize endings of verbs we’ve covered so far, along with noun endings, vocabulary, grammar rules, etc).

**We are at the halfway point, so we will pause and rewind to spend next week doing a review of Chapters 1-6 before moving fully moving on to Chapter 7. Please come to class ready to ask me about any specific questions pertaining to Chapters to 1-6.

(Due Thursday, February 5):

1. Following the instructions in the book, complete copy work for 7.1 and 7.2 (these should be handwritten). Remember to also make your index cards.
